The challenge
3 separate venues
The theatre stages classic, modern and contemporary shows on 3 stages. The principal house seats 600, plus there is a stage with 230 seats and the foyer’s “box”, with 80 seats.
Theatre managers demanded a 100% contemporary security system — to be installed without disrupting the architecture of this historic landmark.
Key requirements included:
- A state-of-the-art system to bring 21st-century key management to a 19th-century building
- A proven system to keep audiences and staff secure during the theatre’s busy, varied schedule
- Flexibility for security administrators to tailor access authorisations to the precise individual
The solution
Secure mechatronic solution
The CLIQ mechatronic locking system integrates cutting-edge microelectronics and intelligent encryption into a high-security mechanical cylinder.
Because CLIQ locks are wireless, no major alterations were needed to existing doors — a critical feature when refitting an historic building.
Easy key management
Access permission updates are easily communicated via programming keys.
CLIQ keys can be programmed to permit entry only at pre-set times — during public opening times, or after hours for cleaners. If an employee or contractor loses a key, its access authorization is withdrawn quickly by reprogramming a locking cylinder.
“The CLIQ locking system offers the Deutsches Theater a safe and flexible solution.”
